Swaying alive
Reliving the heyday of the disco fad will soon be an option for Copenhagen party goers, who crave the Bee Gees but are sick and tired of attending low-budget theme parties. Fobsi Studio is going back to the future to revitalize the 70’s and 80’s with a club design that will have you gasping for air. The beats will be to die for. But we promise: You will survive.
I like my sugar with coffe and cream
Fobsi Studio is currently designing a new coffee place in the heart of Copenhagen. Think espresso, but forget about the traditional barrista minimalism and add club atmosphere instead. The place will be the offspring of two sensations: the relaxation of lounge and the pick-me- up of espresso. You can have your coffee anyway you like. As long as you have it here.
Royal welcome in New York
Fobsi Studio is currently working on a new interior design for Aamanns Copenhagen in New York city. The project is still in progress but we look forward to presenting everything at the grand opening in January 2012. Please see the latest pictures from the pre-opening event with the Danish Crown Prince Couple.

Fobsi Studio is a modern design agency in Copenhagen, Denmark. The agency was born in 2007 and has grown from being a playground of imagination to a flourishing business. We are deeply rooted in our desire to keep pushing the limits of form and function. To enter the unknown is to enter freedom. Fobsi Studio primarily works with interior decorating, brand development and furniture design. But because we love to team up with leading players in the design industry, we are equipped to take a wide range of different challenges. We have made managing and controlling design processes our living, but we like to see things through and also love to carry out the actual implementation. |
We aim high and demand a lot of our clients. Or as we put it: we will listen to what you want, if you are prepared to hear what you need. Find out how close you are to making your dreams come true. Browse through our work and get the inspiration you need to whip your business into shape. |

Nor more dancing on my own. The night club Zen is all about the art of kicking it VIP style, and as club owner the award-winning producer Remee proudly invites fellow celebs as well as international clubbing aficionados to his newly opened party mansion in central Copenhagen. What used to be the world-renowned jazz joint Montmartre is now an exclusive setting for people who take partying seriously. Fobsi Studio could hardly have developed a more antiDanish social democratic atmosphere, and the last 7 months have seen the place undergo some major changes before being launched as the premiere venue for the 24 hour party people. Custom-made lamps, floor lighting, hand-carved membership cards in brass are just a few examples of a make-over which will quickly convince you that modern Zen has got very little to do with ascetic living and monks in orange dresses.

Nordisk Film is one of the world’s oldest and most respected production companies in television and media. However, there is nothing old-school about the design of the studio that houses Weekend Weekend, a morning talk show aired on national television. Designing live broadcasting settings is a tough discipline, because you never just deal with form, but also with function. In other words, a sofa is not just a sofa but an interview area. And a living room is not a living room but a stage for celebs and journalists with cameras, make-up artists and thousands of meters of cable. Inspired by movie props from the 1950’s, Fobsi Studio have build an environment that is enjoyed by millions of viewers – and quite a few celebs who have already featured on the show.

A piece of Copenhagen, Denmark is coming to New York City with the opening of Aamanns/Copenhagen, the city’s only exclusively Danish restaurant and cultural center located in the Tribeca Film Center building in Manhattan. The restaurant will offer an authentically Danish experience with a culinary focus on smørrebrød, the traditional Danish dish of select ingredients atop a slice of fresh rye bread, year-round cultural events and distinct Danish design. Fobsi Studio created the interior inspired by the Nordic light. And the bright and open space in Laight Street was therefore the perfect space for this concept. The final interior pictures will be uploaded in January 2012 when the construction work is finished.

Words Premium is about building a space where the modern man can be himself and create his own personal style. The store is marked by an atmosphere of unpretentiousness and a room for detail. Chrome hangers and old school motor cycle handlebar fittings set the tone, and you quickly find out that this is a place where men get to be men. The desk has been custom-made at a flight case factory and represents a rock’n’roll attitude and a worship of an impulsive lifestyle where the only rule is that there is no rules. Words Premium markets state-of-the-art brands and is situated in the heart of Copenhagen, Denmark.

Before designing the interior of Aamanns Take Away, we were deeply inspired by the way the restaurant’s chefs prepare food. Meticulous attention to detail and an uncompromising approach to quality mark the way things are done here, and we wanted to build on that. We have worked with wood the same way the chefs treat meat, fish and vegetables. And the result is as honest as it is original. The relatively small space has become a nice spot, where visitors can allow themselves to let time fly while they inspect life as it passes by on the busy street outside.

A couple of years back, the Danish artist Christian Hornsleth made the decorations for this club that lives its life in the cranny rooms of an old building in central Copenhagen. Our mission was to make the club more accessible to a mainstream crowd while holding on to the unique and dramatic atmosphere build up there for years. We went for a more exclusive setting and made it possible for guests to escape the hurly-burly atmosphere for a private menage á deux or trois. Working with the powerful contrast of light and colour, the place is closely related to the empty neon lights of urban industrialism.

Coffee Room is a new hangout for serious coffee lovers. This is where you will find your perfectly tempered morning cortado while taking in the pure atmosphere of authentic Copenhagen. We have created a unique comfort zone, and used Finnish lamps and French chairs to ensure a truly modern Danish concept.

On a day-to-day basis, we create studio design for the Danish production company Nordisk Film that delivers high-end material to the national broadcasting network TV 2. The different concepts and studio designs need to be aligned with the harsh demands that comes with producing live television, and we work on several dimensions at the same time: decoration, lighting, furniture design and spacial arranging.

Wearhouse is a concept we have created for the Danish clothing brand Only, a part of Bestseller. The idea was to build a large show room close to Bestseller’s corporate headquarters, and our ambition was to build a solutions that was both flexible and mobile. We developed a display system that has made it easy to keep presenting new expressions for new collections. We also focused on creating a gritty image that would use furniture and other elements to emphasize Only’s profile as a jeans label.

This club is created for a very specific target audience: young people who would like to spend their entire evening in on place and one place only. We have created an intimate atmosphere in a place that can house the most extreme parties while not compromising the participants’ comfort. The idea is to get the guests to stay all night by offering them a space where they feel completely at home.

This was a rather monumental task as it included design of a new lobby in a library drawn by the international icon Arne Jacobsen. We wanted to create an entirely new expression that pays homage to the original dreams and ideas of the building. Our job was to rethink the entire area, as the library was facing the challenge of implementing an entirely new self-service system. We have worked a lot with colours to quickly give the user an overview of the room’s most important installations.
